What to bring to inpatient treatment

During your time in our inpatient treatment program, you can expect to stay in a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained facility. Our staff is always available to address any questions or concerns you may have. While our facilities are private, quiet, and comfortable, we encourage you to bring certain items to make your stay more enjoyable. Below is a list of permitted and prohibited items.

What Should I Bring to Inpatient Treatment?

  • Insurance card/insurance prescription card
  • Emergency contact information
  • Sealed hygiene items (no alcohol content permitted)
  • Wristwatch (no internet, photographic/recording capability)
  • Writing journal/notebook
  • Bible or other religious text (if preferred)
  • Clothing items (no more than 8 outfits for residential & 4 outfits for detox)
  • Reading glasses, if needed
  • Pre-rolled cigarettes in unopened packs (35-day supply)
  • Chewing tobacco in unopened packs (35-day supply)
  • Electronic cigarettes/vapes & sealed e-juice (35-day supply)

Personal Vehicles

Driving your personal vehicle to the facility is a last resort. If there is no other option, the vehicle may stay at the facility for no longer than 72 hours. A relative or friend must be contacted within that timeframe to pick up the vehicle. If you drive your car to the facility, keys must be turned in and always kept by staff.

Medication Guidelines

  • Medications must be in prescription containers with a current medical order.
  • All medications must be approved by the Medical Director.
  • Controlled substances will be destroyed according to TRC policies.
  • Medications prescribed and discontinued during your stay will be disposed of according to TRC policies.
  • Upon discharge, your physician will determine the medications you will take with you. Medications not picked up within 3 days will be destroyed; no medications will be mailed after your departure.

What Should I Leave at Home?

  • Cell phones
  • Laptops
  • Cameras
  • Portable MP3 players
  • Personal electronics with internet, photographic, and/or audio recording capabilities
  • Pets/Animals (service animals are allowed; emotional support animals are not)
  • Food
  • Cash
  • Credit/Debit cards
  • Unsealed hygiene items, cigarettes, e-juice
  • Pornography
  • Alcohol, marijuana, or any other illegal substances
  • Mouthwash, cologne, perfume, hand sanitizer
  • Expensive personal items such as jewelry, clothing, shoes, etc.
  • Clothing with gang or drug-related logos, shorts, tank tops, halter tops, backless or low-cut clothing, and tight clothing of any kind
  • Open-toed shoes (shoes must always cover the entire foot)
  • Hats or bandanas
  • Multiple suitcases/containers of belongings (limit your belongings to what is necessary due to limited storage capacity)
  • Weapons or sharp objects of any kind
Please note that prohibited items brought to the facility will be inventoried and either stored or disposed of according to WPRC policies for the duration of your stay and returned upon discharge.
